ZeroSpace Radio
ZeroSpaceRadio is a retro-futuristic social idle game where players sign contracts, compete for talent, and grow an intergalactic broadcast empire. It combines an X-connected economy with orbital outposts, escalating upgrades, prestige progression, and seasonal competition.
ZeroSpaceRadio started with a simple idea: build an idle game that gives people reasons to return without making playing feel like work. I brought that concept into an underground broadcasting universe, combining retro space imagery, modern science fiction, and social competition.
Players build their network by signing profiles, placing them at outposts, and competing with other players for their contracts. Outpost upgrades, profile levels, and seating decisions shape earnings. Prestige resets create another growth cycle, while permanent Hall of Fame achievements preserve part of a player’s history. Separate seasonal competitions give newer players another opportunity to compete.
The biggest design challenge was finding the balance between depth and simplicity. Early interface revisions became too large and required too much navigation. I consolidated the core gameplay into a compact mission-control view, with detailed information available through dialogs and contextual help. Progression went through repeated simulations and adjustments to make early growth rewarding while keeping later decisions meaningful.
Underneath the interface, the server controls earnings, pricing, ownership, and transactions. The browser presents that state rather than deciding what a player owns or earns. I used AI-assisted development throughout the build, directing the product, visual identity, gameplay rules, and successive refinements.
The finished foundation includes X sign-in, account and privacy controls, custom sharing graphics, and self-hosted analytics. Production runs in Docker, with automated checks, server-side builds, migrations, rollback protection, and bounded backups and cleanup. ZeroSpaceRadio is now live, with a foundation for continued gameplay development and additional social galaxies.
