Introducing Coder Life: A Community for Developers
I started a Discord community for developers. Here's what it's about and why you might want to join.
Why Another Discord Server?
There are a million developer communities out there. So why did I start Coder Life?
Honestly? I was tired of the ones that either:
- Felt like ghost towns
- Were so big you couldn't have real conversations
- Had toxic "well actually" culture
- Were just thinly veiled job board spam
I wanted something in between. A place where developers could actually help each other without the BS.
What Coder Life Is
Real Conversations
This isn't a place to just drop your question and disappear. We have actual discussions about:
- Career stuff (job hunting, salary negotiation, interviews)
- Tech choices (without the holy wars)
- Side projects
- The general "being a developer" experience
Experience Levels Welcome
Juniors can ask "dumb" questions without getting dunked on. Seniors can mentor without being condescending. Mid-levels can finally figure out what they're even supposed to be doing.
No Hustle Culture
You don't have to be "grinding" 24/7 to belong here. Some people code for fun, some for work, some just because. That's all fine.
What We're Building
Right now it's a Discord, but I'm planning to build out coderlife.net as a proper community platform. Forums, resources, maybe some live events.
Still in the early stages, but that's the vision.
Join Us
If this sounds like your vibe, come hang out: discord.gg/btpqdGEHpq
It's small right now, but that's kind of the point. Easier to build community when it's not overwhelming.
See you there? 👋
