Google 2 step verification

Never realized how many devices, pieces of software, other that I have my Google accounts tied to until i decided to activate the process.

\r\n

Gotta say the extra security is a nice peace of mind. But all the while It’s a curse while I slowly adapt all my devices, apps, pc’s etc over to the 2 step process.

\r\n

For those unfamiliar with what the 2 step verification is I’ll tell you. In a nut shell you link your mobile to your account and everytime you or some attempts to access your account from an unknown location you get a text prompting you with a code to input.

\r\n

Draw back to it is, you have to create unique passwords per device through your account management. Not so bad if your not like me and could. Be on any one of a dozen pc’s or have so many things tied to one account. But if your like me It’s mildly annoying. But again peace of mind from someone cracking my password or if i ever end up foolishly falling for a scam that i plug my user and pass for Google into.

\r\n

On that note It’s a wise idea to maybe have multiple passwords as most hijackers will try your combo on various known entries like Facebook, MySpace, your web site, whatever. But that’s maybe another random post for another day..
